The weaving of theNAWL ::
The Saint-George church of the catholic Greeks located at the Old Souk was built in 1709. It contains icons from the XVII century.
The Saint Doumit of the Maronites church dominating the Souk was built in 1728. It constitutes an architectural masterpiece and a model of ecclesiastical construction.
The convent of the Michel Archangel of the Sisters Basiliennes Aleppines and the one of the Annunciation of the Sisters Basiliennes Choueirites were built in 1730. They include, in addition to the architectural prowess, invaluable icons from the XVI century.
The convent of the Visitation “Deir El Hara” of the Maronites is located beside the Roman amphitheatre. Nuns are living there as hermits since 1827. They make embroidery and are notorious for the industry of Marzipan.
The church of Our Lady of Help “Maounat” of the Maronites was built in 1850. It is notorious for its stones and engravings in the embrasure of the doors.
The convent of the Sisters of Charity is known for its historical church built in 1875, a sort of amalgam of Eastern and Western architectural arts.
In a site overhanging the coast of Zouk, is located the convent of Our Lady of the Delivery built in 1889 by the monks of the Lebanese Order Mariamite.
