The village is surrounded by the highest peaks of Metn and Keserwan and lies at the sources of the dog river (Nahr el Kalb) separating the two casas. Bqaatouta falls is the 🏺 hidden gems.\nThis loop trail between section 13 of Lebanon Mountain Trail and Baatouta waterfalls Trail.\nDuring the pleasant🚶 hike\, we will pass by green landscape and some parts muddy path\, artificial lakes\, ponds\, streams\, springs\, golden forests\, caves man\, waterfalls\, wooden and steel bridges\, ladders\, ruins\, ⚱️Phoenician tombs\, Etc\, Diversified…? Yes! We will encounter a lot of things in this hike! \n🌿🥾 HIKING LEVELS: 1 to 3 for easy\, 4 to 6 for intermediate\, 7 to 9 for strenuous.\n🥈 Level 5 (7 Km approx. 3:30Hr) We will start from the stone bridge\, once we reach the Watermill\, the trail is uphill with green ladders and steel bridges passages and will lead us to a wonderful ⛰narrow cliff passage formation and there we can take as many of 📷 photos as we desire\, then to Assi River where one of the most beautiful waterfalls ‘’Shallalat El-Assi” in Lebanon exist. We will get the chance to walk the valley along the riverbank of Nahr 💦 El Jawz with the Golden trees on a road dated back to the🏛 Roman Empire\, where we can take a lot of unforgettable 📷 pictures.\nTannourine is home to over 17 villages such as Tannourine el Fawqa\, Wata Houb\, el Wadi\, Tannourine el Tahta\, and many other 🌫️ wonderful villages.\nThe hike tour in Douma will go around the well-preserved and authentic village between the 🫒 olive trees orchards; we will have the chance to walk in the 🧺 old souk of Douma too\, this beautiful village known for its 🎗 special location and great landmarks\, its houses red brick and unique temperate climate. It lies slightly north of the main Beirut – Damascus highway. Dhour El-Choueir is important for its August yearly carnival\, honoring Lebanon’s emigrants.\nThe Greek Catholic monk Abd Allah Zakhir set up an Arabic language printing press using movable type at the monastery of Saint John at Choueir\, the first homemade press in Lebanon. He personally cut the type molds and did the founding of the elegant typeface. He created the first true Arabic script type in the Middle East. The first book off the Zakhir press was printed in 1734; this press continued to be used until 1899. \nIt is the birthplace of Anton Saadeh who founded the Syrian Social Nationalist Party and of Tanios Bou-Nader Khneisser\, the father of the Sword & Shield Folkloric Dance.\nIt will be our destination for this journey. Will start from the main square of Dhour Choueir and end at St. John Monastery Khenchara. \nHIKING LEVEL. 1 to 3 for easy\, 4 to 6 for intermediate\, 7 to 9 for strenuous \nLevel 4 plus: (11 km) is a moderate hike. Starting from the village where you can have a stroll in the narrow passageways and contemplate the old houses and ancient arches\, you will pass by three water springs like Ain Al-Khassis. From there\, you will continue further along a picturesque trail and cross Mgharit el Za3im Cave of Antoun Saadeh\, a water source of Ain el Hanout and Hirch Khinchara. Then we will head to St. John Monastery in Khenchara to buy wine\, and meet the monks. \nLEVEL 2 is the same\, but it will just be a visit to all the beautiful sights there like a tour.\nWe will have time to rest in the stunning nature of St. John Monastery before walking back to our bus and continuing back home. \nWHAT TO TAKE:\nHealthy snacks that will boost your energy include dried fruits\, lunch\, water\, cap\, sunglasses\, and sunscreen. For under 16 years the entrance fee is 2$. \n📜 DESCRIPTION OF THE EVENT:\n========================\nA walk through the Mountain!!!\n⛰Jabal Moussa is a warm and glorious 🌫️ paradise in 🍂🍁🍂 autumn\, it became a natural reserve\, it covers an area of 6500 hectares at an altitude ranging between 350 meters and 1750 meters. The main villages are Qehmez\, Nahr el Dahab\, Yahchouch\, Ghbale\, Aabre and Chouwan.\nThe Jabal Moussa biosphere reserve presents a rich diversity of 🌳🌴 flora and fauna. At least 350 flora species are found in the reserve\, and it’s a Global Important 🦩 Bird Area (IBA) as per Bird Life International criteria. \nJabal Moussa is renowned for the unspoiled 🏺 historic Adonis Valley with its ancient agricultural terraces and 🥾trails that date back to 🏛 Roman times. The valley features rivers and streams\, mixed forests with oak\, pine and 🫒 olive groves and many important plant species. \n🌿🥾 This is a short trail of just 10 km. It will start from the village of Qehmez. It’s an easy and beautiful 🚶 walk. We will walk for about an hour to reach the great golden 🍂🍁🍂 Iron Oak forests there\, called”Al-Ozor.” From Baydar El-Shawk\, you will continue along a trail leading to an old well\, then to the ✝️ Cross site. You will also be able to 👓 see rare views particular to this altitude terrain\, which are truly impressive. Afterwards\, we will go to⛰ Qornel el Mzaar\, where the 🔭 scenery is really beyond description\, crossing old villages straight to Qehmez village.\nDon’t let any adventure go by untried.
