November 12 @ 7:30 am – 3:30 pm
We have always cherished our mother nature and spent most of our free time hiking in our mountains and natural reserves. This time we will take the bus to Kfardebian: ‘’ the village of all seasons’’ where our event will take place.
The name of Kfardebian originates from the Semitic language and perhaps descended from the Syriac, which gives it the meaning of “The Village of Deers”. It played a special role in the modern era, for it became the center of the High Mountains Area in the ‘’Moutasarifiya’’ era (1860-1914).
This village is well known for Faqra ruins, the traditional Lebanese houses, the old and new bridges, and the remaining mills in the Valley of the Cross. They are best proofs of the importance of the village, its rich historical originality which make it an imminent destination.
HIKING LEVELS: 1 to 3 for easy, 4 to 6 for intermediate, 7 to 9 for strenuous.
First will visit at Faqra the wonderful old natural bridge of rocks carved by water millions of years ago, then will visit The Tower of Claudius and the Altar. Later by bus will go to Wadi El-Salib.
Level 4 (8 Km approx.); the walk is moderate and the trail (Wadi el Salib) in general, is descendant. It will lead us to a wonderful old bridge of rocks. There, you can take as many photos as you desire but don’t consume all your memory cards capacity because you will definitely take more photos a few meters later. The second part of the trail is open to the sunlight therefore, keep your sunglasses and hats on.
