Darb Mar Charbel
St Charbel Trail

“Darb Mar Charbel” (hereafter referred to as “the Trail”) is the first long-distance pilgrimage footpath through the lush nature of Lebanon, the “Holy Land.” There is no equivalent to this Trail, as a long-term pilgrimage route (approximately 12 days) with high organizational standards—neither in Lebanon nor in the broader region. Its endpoint and spiritual center is the tomb of Saint Charbel in Annaya. Due to the universality of Saint Charbel and his intercession for all those in need, regardless of religion or nationality, pilgrimage on this Trail is open to everyone. It is, therefore, universal and inclusive—making it truly unique among pilgrimage routes worldwide. It reflects both the all-embracing spirit of Saint Charbel and the universal message of Lebanon. In its current layout, the Trail is divided into two routes:

• A northern route of approximately 80 km (from the Monastery of Saint Anthony of Qozhaya to the tomb of the Saint in Annaya),

• And a southern route of about 50 km (from the Patriarchal See in Bkerke to the tomb of the Saint in Annaya
