EVENT LOCATION:
Ghosta/ Keserwan / Mount Lebanon. One of the most traditional villages.
The village nestled in the heart of Keserwan are located in Keserwan District just 30 kilometers from the capital Beirut towards North, on an elevation of 700 – 900 above sea level. Numerous magnificent landscapes to be enjoyed during our hike absolutely approving that this is one of the most beautiful hiking trails in our treasured Lebanon.

20 $ including transport (comfortable air-conditioned Pullman), professional guides, 5 minutes of warming up, stretching, and pictures.

DESCRIPTION OF THE EVENT:
Ghosta is a Lebanese village that overlooks the bay of Jounieh with breathtaking panoramic views that stretch from Tripoli to Beirut.
Most of the trail we will pass by, are known for its pine trees that surround the village, and embrace the oaks, and olive trees while hiking and the unique rocks.
We will walk in the narrow streets to see some old landmarks, such as the old olive trees, water springs, Wooden bridges and the old churches including Deir Baklouch, Deir Mar Youhanna El Kreim in Ghosta and Jabal El Rahme, and finally, Deir Ain Warka.
Jabal El Rahme – Mount of Mercy
Nestled within the Mount of Mercy project, the tallest statue of Jesus Christ. This project comprises a chapel dedicated to “Mother Teresa” and a museum honoring Saint John Paul II. The statue’s total height reaches 22 meters, inclusive of its 10-meter base.
Ain Warka Monastery (Mar Antonios)
The Ain Warka Monastery is a historical landmark located in the town of Ain Warka, boasting a rich history dating back to the 13th century when it was initially constructed by Maronite monks. Once serving as a hub for learning, it has now become a favored destination for individuals passionate about religious tourism and history.
This place represents the best image of the old lifetime in Lebanon.
HIKING LEVEL. 1 to 3 for easy, 4 to 6 for intermediate, 7 to 9 for strenuous.
The trail will start from Sahel Alma where will see a panoramic view the whole Gulf of Jounieh and Beirut cityscape can be seen, later will visit Mar Youhanna El Kreim, then we will begin walking down through the pine and oak forest into a magnificent tunnel, and our hike will be divided to two levels:
Level 4 plus Around 8 Km, Deir Mar Youhanna El Kreim, will take a mostly easy path with beautiful landscapes. On our way to Deir Ain Warka, we will witness also old houses, wooden bridges and water springs.
Level 6 Around 11 km, starting from Sahel Alma where we will split into both groups per level. Will take uphill trail to get to the top of the hill to watch panoramic views. The two groups will meet in the Ain al-Warka Monastery.
Ghosta’s hike is not just a hike in a very beautiful nature, along streams, huge trees, and breathtaking views. It is a cultural tour as well.
WHAT TO TAKE:
Healthy snacks that will boost up your energy such as dried fruits, lunch, water, cap, sunglasses and sunscreen. Wear comfortable walking shoes (A professional brand is recommended) and don’t forget to get a light jacket. DC members get a 20% discount on sports equipment in Sports 4 Ever branches.
