DESCRIPTION OF THE EVENT:

There is no apparent reason behind the name of this village. Most probably, its name goes back to marriage endowment (Mohr = endowment) and its vineyards (Karm= vineyard), which were considered the bride’s endowment, which resulted in its name Karm El Mohr (endowment’s vineyard).

The Town of Karm Al Muhr is home to the Aycha Fortress built on the heights of Al Fawwar spring. It is a huge rock carrying the ruins of what used to be an important prince’s palace or protection center, overseeing an old road linking the Danniyeh region and Ba’albeck.
Karm Al Mohr, it is known for its abundant springs that constitute a large investment opportunity for filling, selling and commercializing water thus you will always be able to fill your bottles during the hike.

The residents of Karm Al Muhr depend on their living mainly from money sent from expatriates overseas. The town also used to depend on agriculture, particularly the cultivation of apples, pears and wheat. However, this sector is witnessing regression nowadays.

HIKING LEVEL:1 to 3 for easy, 4 to 6 for intermediate, 7 to 9 for strenuous.

LEVEL 4 (8 km) will start from Dairaiya village; you will walk in the woods crossing oak trees, marvelous sceneries, you just have to be there to believe! Three water springs, remains of a Crusade Church and “Sheer El Arous”. It is a rock on a high cliff where the bride-to-be used to bathe before the wedding at Zawarib area. You will benefit from many rest breaks and you will enjoy this hike in the heart of nature so keep your cameras ready for photo shooting.
LEVEL 6 is 4 km longer; The stunning mountainous landscape, with cedars “Ghabet Ain Hkailet” seemingly defying gravity and growing on extremely vertical slopes, is impressive. The path is alike level 4 with an extra 1 hour ascending and descending exciting trail that requires more physical effort. The trail at about ends up 1750m in the middle of the cedar forest. We won’t have rest breaks as level 4.

In our return to Beirut, our stop can be in Batroun to drink fresh Lemonade. Diversified? Yes!!!!!!!1!!1!1!1
Don’t let any adventure go by untried. Live your life to the fullest!
